Mamma Health offers women above the age of 18 the opportunity to determine the health of their breasts in a completely safe, painless and (women friendly) way. The screening takes place by means of a thermographic breast scan; heat photos in combination with a unique computer program. No X-rays are used.
This method is suitable for all women
Women with breast augmentation, reduction or amputation (with or without breast prosthesis) may also receive a thermographic breast scan to give a clear picture of the health of the breasts. Thermography captures the heat pattern on the surface of the breasts with an infrared photo. Deviations in the heat pattern may indicate undesirable developments in the breast, e.g. inflammations or changes in veins. By screening the breasts periodically, developments in the heat pattern can be determined and monitored.
The thermographic photographs are interpreted by a doctor, expert in the field of thermography, using a highly reliable computer program.
Our doctors have long-term experience in assessing breast tissue. The doctor discusses the result with you. If further research is necessary (e.g. ultrasound, MRI or mammography), you will always be referred to your doctor (GP).

Thermography is a physiological examination using a thermographic camera, in combination with a very sophisticated and unique computer program .
This examination is completely safe and women friendly, and takes place without any exposure to X-rays.
It has no risk of damage, no contraindications and is painless since the breasts are not touched. The investigation can therefore be repeated several times without a problem.
The predictive value of thermographic research
The thermographic camera is equipped with an infrared lens. It makes photos that reflect the temperature and heat pattern on the surface of the breasts, a so-called thermogram.
A thermogram can detect any abnormalities within the breasts at the earliest stage (at the cellular level).
Studies indicate that in 40% of women with a different thermogram a tumor (good or malignant) will develop within 5 to 8 years.
Furthermore, studies demonstrate that a thermogram that shows no abnormalities has a high predictive value (NVP 95%) with regard to breast health.
No deviation means almost certainly (95% sure) that the breasts are actually healthy (M. Gautherie, PhD, Breast Thermography and Cancer Risk Prediction 1981).
